Went to dinner with some friends sat night at The Ranch, every bottle of wine half price everySsaturday night. We went for the 09' Cakebread Chard. The wine was a good example from Napa. Green apple, pear, with a touch of oak. It was a good wine, but not worth the $40+ asking price. The best part of dinner was the goat cheese shrimp and grits and Kobe Tacos. Oh yea, the chicken and waffles were pretty awesome too.
Moral of the story, don't spend $41 on the Cakebread, get the Duckhorn Decoy for $30 @ half price bottle night at... "The Ranch"

I can't wait to try this place when we make the trip to Dallas. Also I could have told you the Decoy would blow the Cakebread out of the water just ask brother!!!! Cheers Plan on drinking some good stuff this weekend, so stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteDude, I wanted the Decoy but everyone else wanted a white. I was not buying and was trumped. The level of dissapointment was obvious on all their faces. My expression was one of "I told you so".
